    About Us

Welcome to our first attempt at creating a blog together! We plan to use this to explore all the epicurean delights contained within the most Magical place on Earth, Walt Disney World! But why “Mouse Chow”? We’ll get to that… Once upon a time there was a Lady named Kathy who was a single mother to an 11 year old daughter named Alexis. She was a beautiful child with a name fit for a royal princess (thanks, Debbie!!)! Kathy’s child had a heart full of Wanderlust who eventually talked her into joining the Air Force! Debbie was a married woman who was Very pregnant with twins and was also in…

    May 2024 – Mexico

It’s the 6th of May; the day after Cinco de Mayo and we are going to…you guessed it…Mexico!! Unfortunately, Cinco de Mayo fell on a Sunday and we are all frugal cheapskates who don’t have access to the parks on weekends, holidays, and weeks during Christmas and Spring Break with the Pixie Pass! So, we decided to do the next best thing and celebrate Cinco de Mayo on Seis de Mayo! Where’d we start? All together now: the Rose & Crown pub!!! Mexico at Epcot is such a blast and we were all looking forward to celebrating the rich culture, fantastic food, lively mariachi music, and beautiful colors that represent…

Bonus – Festival of the Arts 2024

While at Epcot for other adventures, the Festival of the Arts was going on! Of course we had to take some pictures to share with you! I love the chalk drawings…the talent…and then it’s all washed away! There are also tons of tents set up with things to buy…there are so many WANTS! Of course, they also have a ton of food offerings…but we weren’t very good at getting pictures of those: And finally, they came out with a new Figment popcorn bucket (with rainbow popcorn) for the event. Lexi is OBSESSED with Figment and Debbie surprised her with it!!! The lights in it change color! JUST LOOK!!!

    January 2024 – Italy

”When the moon hits your eye like a big pizza pie”…that’s ITALY at Epcot!! Italy is a Mediterranean Mecca that once was the cultural, religious, and historical power center of the world and has been inhabited by humans for at least 850,000 years! That’s pretty incredible!! If you’ve never been to the real place, pop it on your bucket list, it’s a wonderful country to visit with So much to see, do, and experience! For our “trip” to Italy we brought in some reinforcements and had a slight change in the cast of characters. In addition to Lexi, Debbie, John, Sebastian, and David, we had one of John’s older sons,…

    December 2023 – Tequila Bar

We had big plans for December…but as often happens, life got in the way! Debbie had family come visit her and Lexi and the crew headed to Connecticut mid-month so we just couldn’t make a dinner work. What could we make work? The tequila bar in Mexico, of course. La Cava del Tequila is a tiny little hole in the wall inside the Mexico pavilion. There’s usually a wait for the tables, but you can pop your name on the list at the hostess stand and wander until it’s your turn OR stand at the bar. We like to hop on the Mexico ride while the rest are waiting…it’s much…

    Bonus – Chinese New Year

While in Epcot for our Italy night (coming soon), Lexi and her friend Erin ran into China to look at all their Chinese New Year decor! It was so festive that we thought you’d enjoy taking a look, too! Welcome to China! We’ve been here before…but not for this!! This guy was just too pretty not to include! Everything was normal…until you got to the shop… As it is the Year of the Dragon, there were tons of dragon items! It was all so cute!! We’re so glad we hopped in to check it out!

    November 2023 – Germany

ACHTUNG!! Now that I have your attention, lets visit Germany, which is exactly what we did on Debbie’s birthday in November! Yes Mousechowers, we are actually way behind! We had grand plans to do another country in December, but between holiday parties, hosting family, and traveling to visit family, December was over in the blink of an eye!! Now the holidays are over and we are hungry and ready to chow down again! Besides, what else is there to do in January/February except go to Disney World and EAT!? So, back to November and Germany…. Side note, Debbie is 1/4 German. Her grandfather Ewald immigrated through Ellis Island with his…

    Bonus – Popcorn Bucket

As you know by now, we almost always stop for popcorn at the beginning of our day! Since it was the Christmas season when we went to Germany (we were a little late getting that one in and had to go in November rather than October) we were excited to see what Christmas buckets they’d have!! Disney did not disappoint! They only had 1 holiday bucket that we saw while we were there, but it was a Musical Rotating Tin!!! Of course we grabbed one. Can you blame us?? Check this out (excuse all the background noise):

    September 2023 – Morocco Pavilion Part 2

I forgot to mention this in Part 1! There is a gallery called Race Against the Sun. We didn‘t have time to pop in, but are interested in seeing what‘s inside!! Aside from the main restaurant, Morocco also has a little counter service place called the Tangerine Cafe! If you‘re a cider fan, try the Flight!! They‘re all really tasty!! We arrived at the “Spice Road Table” restaurant in the Morocco Pavilion just a bit before our reservation time (4pm…I’m telling you, it’s perfect). We were greeted at the front of the restaurant by very friendly cast members and we were given the option of sitting outside or inside. As…

    September 2023 – Morocco Pavilion Part 1

Okay Disney Diners….we’re back!! Life got in the way for a little while but we are back on track. (Speaking of tracks…be sure to hit up Test Track while at EPCOT!) Debbie and Fred took a 3 week trip to Sri Lanka (next time Lexi is determined to go with them!!!) and Debbie was NOT looking forward to eating any more Mediterranean/Indian type food…especially curry!! What she was really craving was a nice, juicy cheeseburger!! But a plan is a plan…and we had selected September for our visit to the Morocco Pavilion so off we went to experience the “Spice Road Table” restaurant. Just to be clear…we start ALL of…

August 2023 – The China Pavilion Part 2

We apologize!!! Life…happens, lol!! And here we are blogging about August in November. Never fear, I’m also working on September‘s posts!! Octobers dinner is actually happening next week as there was too much traveling in October to squeeze it in!!! So…what we‘ve all been waiting for…China‘s food! China has 3 places to grab some food. We showed you the Tea Cart in part 1, but they also have the lovely Lotus Blossom Cafe, a counter service restaurant. Definitely decent for a grab and go meal!! Of course, that‘s not what we‘re here for…we‘re here for the main event… Nine Dragons!!!! Nine Dragons was a first for us all and…wow…it did…
